Adventure Within

“Adventure within…that is where you find the truth.” – Te’

I AM in the process of returning from a short Sabbatical as the last weeks of winter turned into spring. Since the first of March I decided to not engage in social media.

When I deleted all icons from both by iPhone and iPad so the temptation was not there to lure me into endless checking for notifications to see what everyone else is up too. Or how many high fives from followers…

I felt liberated!

Not to say that I didn’t go through some withdrawals in this process. But it was time to give myself a break so that I could renew and focus on creating magic in my life.

For nearly three and a half years now. Pretty much every Wednesday with out fail. I have posted something. Even if only one liner’s and photos of magical moments.

In this writing journey I have connected with some really great people like yourself. From all over the world. It has helped me show up for myself each week.

To search within.
To share experts of my writing that have spoken to my soul and hopefully yours.

So as I return from ‘adventuring within’…I hope you may be inspired to find the truth within yourself and take your own adventure.

Honour what is sacred for you
and what you are creating.

Respect what you know to be true for you.
You above all know.

Walk with Empathy

image

May we walk with empathy today…

I think we as a society can be too quick to judge.
Often times we think we know better than another.

But do we really?

Have we actually walked in another’s shoes?
Do we carry their hidden scars as our own?

Do we wake up from their nightmares,
in the middle of the night, drenched in their sweat?

Do we grieve silently their tears for a loss
or heartache that we may never have experienced?

Do we really have any right to condemn another
who has walked through the fire of their own life?

Who has been brave enough
to take another breath?

Who are we to say what is right or wrong?

Yet we do each day.
More than we realize.

We judge one another and ourselves harshly.
Eloquently.

We whisper behind closed doors,
in an attempt that they might not hear us.

I don’t know about you,
but I am tired of it.

If you are not here showing up for your life…

Creating your heart out.
Getting up after you fall down.

Stay right where you are.
Breathe into that space that feels hard to reach.

Walk with empathy…in your own shoes!

Freedom of Being Courageous

image

Few of us find freedom in completely being ourselves. Courageous.

We fear being different.
Afraid of what others may think of us.

So we either conform
or adopt a, “I don’t give a shit attitude.”

We fear that if we do not keep striving, all that we are afraid of will catch up to us and hunt us down.

So we don’t stop long enough to reflect.
To draw on our own inner source of strength.

To trust
or be in a place of gratitude for this glorious, perfect moment of being alive.

We fear that if we speak the truth, the rawness of what we feel may not be accepted or understood. We may even experience rejection.

So we hold in our true feelings until our joy gets squelched.
Our soul becomes a distant echo of longing.

We fear loving others and ourselves because it hurts like hell to love.
To care.

So we act like we don’t give a damn.
We become somewhat hardened and may even shut down.

We may not be able to reach out and embrace the love that is always at our finger tips, the love that is within us.

We fear being courageous…

As if running around with our invisible capes helping others, often unsolicited, rather than acknowledge our own daily actions of courage.

So we become a rescuer.

Though we often overlook being the hero in our own life.
Of saving ourselves.

It’s tough.
It takes balls to be courageous, loving, brave, beautiful, honest and mindfully grateful.

So why not just accept the fact that we already are…

Enough.
Perfect.
Beautifully brave.
Yes, alive and kicking ass!

High Five to the Freedom of Being Courageous!
